It’s been an obscenely long time since I’ve written here, and for that I apologize. I’ve been down the rabbit hole the past few weeks as I complete revisions to my next book — official title, Latasha and the Kidd on Keys. (Coming 2013!)
So that’s on the horizon — as are a couple other things, such as a new app, and an ebook.
I’m very psyched for the app. It’s of my first picture book, Be a Buddy, Not a Bully.
I’ve gotten to play with the beta, and I cannot wait for folks to experience it. It has a lot more interactive elements than the previous apps, and I wrote a whole bunch original material to supplement the already-existing story. All told, I crafted a bit over 50 lines of new character dialog for the interactive parts of the story. I’ve seen the storyboards for the trailer, and I’ll hopefully have a finished version of that to share shortly. It’s coming out on August 17th, right at Back-to-School time.
As for the ebook stuff? Well, my publisher will be releasing the ebook of Latasha and the Little Red Tornado. I’ve gotten to sample that, too, and it looks pretty darn nice on an iPad and a Nook (don’t have a Kindle). (And this is still up in the air, but if my editor and some other parties agree, it’ll include the first chapter or so of the sequel!) That looks like September to me, but I don’t have the release date handy. I do know that it’ll be quite affordably priced.
Lastly, I’m going to be trying something out as we build to the release of the Latasha sequel. I have a couple shorter pieces that I’m thinking of releasing as ebooks; one finished, another in the works. I’d like to release something every other month until the book comes out, just to keep appetites whetted. Audience: what do you all think of this? Would you buy a $0.99 piece of short fiction for your e-reader?
